This is my 5th Fromsoft game. Possibly my favorite. Less RPG elements than the other games, and the storyline is different. There are choices your character can make but at the end of the day, he is Sekiro. He has his own spoken dialogue. You are playing a character in a story, vs the other games, where you kind of get to make your own character, right down to name/gender/appearance, and define your playstyle using a variety of starting classes that focus on certain stats. In this game, you will make some skill tree and weapon upgrade choices. Otherwise, the playstyle is set.
The thing that sets this apart is the boss fights. They are amazing. Sometimes in Souls games, you can be overleveled and ruin a boss experience. In this game, you cannot. Some mini bosses can be cheesed but the main bosses must be fought how the game wants you to experience them. Most of the fight is blocking/dodging and wearing down your opponent for an opening. Which feels like how a fight would actually go between a human and a 30 foot tall monster or legendary samurai warrior who is somehow twice your size. It is extremely fun.
