Incredible movie by A24 in my opinion, In the term of jump scares there weren’t many, however the whole movie has you tense and freaked out as it is. I’ve seen quite a few reviews claiming that it isn’t very gory, but in my opinion it is. I wouldn’t bring kids under 15, the possession scenes are incredibly realistic and there are multiple (4) different scenes where characters get injured or die in very graphic ways.

Evil Dead Rises, I thought was a generally decent movie. The story line was interesting enough, I enjoyed the twists. I did however struggle with how much gore was inserted into the film. I am one for gore when it is necessary for the film and supports what is going on (or further develops it for that matter) This movie had tons of gore, just for the sake of gore. It was unnecessarily gory, and bloody for no reason relating to the storyline or characters. It truly took away from the art of the film and the rest of the storyline and I was quite disappointed by this.
