Good story line , but historically incorrect . Chicano became socio political self identity in the 1960’s . The mambo was all the dance rage during the 1950’s , and the Zoot Zoot Riots occurred during WW2 , not pre war . The fascination with la Santa Muerte is more recent and any self respecting , spiritual Mexican Mamá would have been praying to Our Lady of Guadalupe . It seems the writers decided to create a cultural ensalada in order to create interest in the series . All that aside it was fascinating to see the parallels with the racist political leaders and Trump and his followers .
