I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've spent some time working in fort mac and in camp jobs and this was an instal portal to reliving alot of the feelings and experiences I had there. I often found myself drifting back to thinking about the endless darkness, the bitter cold, the clicky-ness of the dining room in camp. It was eye-opening to learn more about the female perspective being in such an awful place. I always had an understanding of the misogyny and sexism women faced working in the oil sands, but this illuminated the experience really vividly in a way that I would never truly understand. Another aspect that is completely accurate is the depiction of loneliness despite being surrounded by people you consider friends all day. It is a unique experience that you don't really understand until it happens and this book conveys it so well.
