enjoyable writing but i cannot help but wonder is this just some exercise or does it actually have a purpose. more and more, i expect writing to say some thing of impotance. if it doesn't then it is a waste of time to read it. look at the current world on the edge of disaster. artists have a duty to humanity. help us to clear things up. improve the mess we've created. so i don't know if this is a worthwhile book.

dont see the movie... read the book! daunting at 800 pages, but it reads so easily. loaded with great detail of course. a good read. a fun read. if the napoleonic bug bites you, theres nothing for it but to immerse yourself in the immensity... of the man, of the book. well worth it.
