This is the type of movie where clips and trailers just don't do it justice. It's hard to take a piece of this movie and just stick it in front of everyone to appease them. But to see it all together is just magnificent! I am a HUGE fan of the original Aladdin (I have a shrine to prove it) so I was trying to stay positive. The huge amount of negativity did make me wary and I was having a hard time with certain things like Jafar and a seemingly lackluster Aladdin and meh singing... But I was completely wrong and taken back! Yes, it's not perfect, but it's much better than people are giving it credit. A new song by Alan Menken is just awe inspiring and powerful for Jasmine. Aladdin was charming and absolutely hilarious! Genie was super fresh and distinct while still giving the respect to the classic. And Jafar actually grew on me. The way the movie is made makes all of these elements work together for one big experience you must see! Give Aladdin the love it deserves and stop listening to the media!
