This is a thoroughly enjoyable film that doesn’t rely on car chases, special effects, glamorous stars or inane plot twists to simply tell a thoroughly believable story. Set in the holiday season of 1970-71, it centers on the lives of the few students, a teacher & staff at a boys prep school in New England who don’t get to go home for the 2 week holiday when the school closes. I won’t divulge any more of the plot as it unfolds but the unhurried pace is in keeping with the story. Period details are utterly accurate. This film holds your attention from start to finish and avoids sentimentality, easy laughs & tears throughout. I encourage you to go see it, time & money well spent at the theater.
