A disjointed mess. I liked the first couple of episodes but was disappointed by the way the characters' stories failed to mesh into something cohesive. Amanda's problems were left unexplained/unexplored. The connection between Amanda and Scott, for example, and why did Amanda seem upset at Scott and Lisey's wedding? What was the trauma that led to her cutting? She seemed to lead a happy life as a child, like the other sisters. She was given too much complexity and no time to explain the whys and whens. Also, everything about the monster, Long Boy, was overdone. Yikes! It was handled with more subtlety in the book. On a positive note, the production design was excellent overall and the cinematography gorgeous.
