I have read all his books and really looked forward to this one.
What a disappointment! I had to fight to stay with it to the end hoping it would recover. It did not.
Most of it was race, family genealogy and liberal politics wrapped around a ridiculous plot.
Even though daughter Annie is in her twenties and an attorney, the only difference in her as an adult are numerous four letter words thrown into her dialogue. Otherwise she remained a child throughout.
I remember a scene in Mississippi Blood where Caitlin refers to herself as TSTL (Too stupid to live). Several characters in this plot deserve that description.
I will not buy another Greg Isles books after this one.
