The worst Pokémon game to date that’s ever been put out. If you’re considering buying it, don’t waste your money. I had such high hopes when the game was announced. I kept up with the updates, and the leaks being put out little by little but didn’t get too involved because I didn’t want the game to be spoiled by the time it was released. I picked up a copy of Scarlet the day after it was finally released and within the first 15 mins of gameplay, I realized it was a complete waste of money. The graphics, the poor performance, the cheesiness of it all. Not to mention the crystal gimmick that again, no one asked for. To myself, and many of us who grew up with Pokémon and are now in adulthood with some having children of our own this wasn’t some regular Pokémon game, it’s a new generation meaning there’s a new region to explore and new Pokémon to collect so the bar was set high. I mean what else would you expect from the “most valuable franchise.” But you can tell there was no heart put into this game. I eventually returned it without a doubt in my mind and I have never in my entire 27 years of living would ever think I’d return a Pokémon game. Ever. GameFreak, Nintendo, whoever reads these reviews do better. You’re going to start losing the fan base that made you guys into who you are today, and there’s no excuse for lackluster Pokémon games when you’re a company worth $71 billion. And for those who like the game good for you, but I’m honestly convinced that you guys would let this company get away with anything because it’s Pokémon. But you know deep down inside this game was complete trash, and at this point you’re letting them get away with giving us the bare minimum year after year.
