Normally, I agree with the reporting on the News Hour. We watch it daily to help us make informed decisions
However, tonight you featured a retired woman colonel who, I believe, did not accurately reflect the standards of conduct in the British Army. I served for 4 years with the British Army as a US Army combat arms officer. I observed nothing that indicated that a unit’s chain of command is not involved in the good order and discipline of units. Strongly recommend that you contact the British Army attaché at the British embassy for the official answer to whether or not Army leaders are involved in good order and discipline.
I also strongly disagree that senior enlisted soldiers should not be disciplined for failing support to support Army policies. We require the leadership of our senior enlisted soldiers. They need to be the frontline of defense for soldiers. If they fail to take care of their soldiers they must go. Please host a segment that reflects the Army culture; not opinion about the Army culture! Thank you.
