While Mads Mikkelsen was absolutely wonderful especially in scenes with Jude Law, the overall movie disappoints. It is basically moving characters from point A to B to C and so forth. There is no depth of character with the exception of two scenes-one in the beginning between Grindewald and Dumbledore and one later between Dumbledore and his brother. There is no much in the way of actual fantastic beasts. The script must have said let's just have the characters running around a bit then have an anticlimatic ending with not much WOW factor. I'm glad I watched it on HBOMAX and didn't pay for a ticket.

They threw away any real character development and rushed through the book cutting important parts. While I applaud the diverse casting, they left the actors with thread bare script. The sets were underwhelming and small. The CGi was atrocious. I was throughly disappointed. I doubt I will watch Season 2. Harriet, can you take back control they have not adapted the book. They butchered it.
