Summer Solstice

The team did an amazing job having young Will Smith show and feel emotion just by his facial expressions. CGI Will Smith looked really good and almost realistic in dim and dark areas but bad when exposed to lighting. Overall, the CGI was mediocre. The action scenes were very smooth and can be creative. When combined with good camera work it becomes perfect, which is evident in the motorcycle scene. Sometimes, especially when it's hand-to-hand combat, the camera is a bit shaky and the bad quick cuts can ruin what would have a been a really good scene. The minor characters weren't the best at acting but are tolerable. As usual, Will Smith delivers a strong performance with his facial gestures and can really say a lot just with his face. IMDb gave the movie a rating of 5.7/10, Rotten Tomatoes with 26%, and a 38% from Metacritic. The movie wasn't the best but it deserves way more than it got. I rate this move a 7.5/10.

If you are a fan of The Beatles I would suggest watching the movie, but if you're just looking for a movie to watch, I would watch something else. The movie isn't that bad but it's also not the best. My problem with the movie was the concept/Idea. A struggling singer-songwriter, Jack Malik, gets into an accident and wakes up in a world where everyone suddenly forgets The Beatles. I just felt like the concept would have worked better with a different storyline. I think they should've done what they did with Queen and Elton John, and just showed us the story of how The Beatles came to be. They also had Ed Sheeran in the movie for no reason. He didn't add anything to the plot or really had a significant impact that made the story move forward. Same goes for "John Lennon" who literally just makes an appearance to tell Jack to confess his love to the person he loves.
