I painfully watched the 1st season, and attempted to watch Season 2 episodes 1 with the hopes of improvements...
BIG MISTAKE! It's obvious someone must have consulted Chelsea about her prior poor, repetitive design choices/ failures. With that said, someone needs to advise Chelsea DeBoer what it means to LISTEN to her clients or at least pretend to listen. I found it extremely off putting that she took this recent widower and father of 3 small kids plight and somehow made it about her. Chelsea asked the gentleman about his design wishes/ style and immediately cut him off before he was able to articulate his and the needs of his children. A true designer and professional would at least
attempt to capture their clients needs and not inject themselves to showcase their lack of talent and insecurity by dismissing their client.
It would serve Chelsea DeBoer well to have a "ghost" interior designer, the same concept as having a ghost writer, therefore minimizing design fails and subsequently lessing her obnoxious, self centered behavior.
Yes, adding the Designer ( Host) family's lifestyle and elements lends to the show being relatable and potentially authentic, BUT let's make the show more about design/ creativity and less about the artificial you.
Chelsea is relatively young and apparently new to the design industry, hopefully she will take this opportunity to learn from her mistakes and become a better listener , designer and host.
Best of luck to you.
