As a person who has read and admired the book- The Lost Symbol, I can say that this tv-series is NOT Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. They redid the whole thing. The cast are given the same names as the characters from the book, but that's it. That's all the similarities you can get in this series and the book. The plot. the events sequence, the characters' relations, their appearance timing, their location-to-be; it's completely different. When I say it's different from the book, I don't mean like they skipped a chapter or two, or didn't show some crucial scenes. What I mean is, nothing that is shown in this series happens in the book, and nothing that happens in the book is shown in this series.
