I haven't read the book, so I can only comment on this TV drama. I am very confused by the setting because it looks like it all takes place in England but the story comes across as American. The "high school " vibe as opposed to English college and University, the "rave" which was more like some American soriety event, and the weird ultra British accents of many of the actors. It is really weird and seems really badly written. I am going to try reading the book because the basic story is interesting and I am wondering whether it is just the adaptation for TV which is so bad?
