Of all dramas I’ve watched, this is my favorite. I’m now a huge Hyun Bin fan and have since watched his other films, dramas and interviews. I’m also a fan of Son Ye Jin’s work and follow what’s happening in their personal lives (after this drama they got married and have a baby! 🥰).
They are both superb actors, very genuine and expressive, sometimes in an understated way that requires very skillful acting, but always precise and spot on. They are hard workers who put a lot of thought into the way they express themselves in their acting.
CLOY is a charming, sweet romance with plenty of comedy as well as danger, fear, action, tears and more. It’s not a sad ending like some have said. There are some sad elements, but it’s mostly happy. (It’s especially happy because they married and started a family in real life.😸)
Another thing I really liked was that the female lead is a strong character, and in fact none of the female characters are weak or helpless at all, and there’s a huge range of character types, both male and female. All the characters are well developed, and even ones who barely appear come across individual, interesting and believable too.
All in all, the storyline, the acting and the directing are top notch. The scenery and cinematography are all good. I periodically rewatch this kdrama, and I never normally rewatch movies or shows.
Also, although I’m now a Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin fan, I seriously have never been the fan of any actor to the point that I would follow or keep up with their personal lives. That I do with this couple speaks volumes, truly. They are such intelligent, sweet people in real life as well ❤️ After watching CLOY, you can’t help but wish them all the happiness in the world. 🥰 Love Love Love them❤️
