This book, and all the books that follow are one of if not THE best book series I've ever read. Kinda reminded me of Harry Potter in the sense that you have a guy who's a very powerful wizard- but has never even seen magic before. He then gets tossed into the deep end of a world full of magic. He has to then learn and fight an evil wizard bent of ruling the world. And these two have a strange link to each other that keeps them locked into this epic battle.
The supporting characters are just as diverse and rich.
