A very good window into American culture. Chrissy Metz (playing Kate) was my favorite of the actors--her ability to communicate emotion through facial expressions is astounding, she is gorgeous, and her wardrobe was the absolute best. The series made too much use of flashbacks and flashforwards and had scenes that the editor seemed to have cut after only 10 seconds, but those were minor annoyances for me and probably didn't bother most. I loved baby Jack's voice, e.g., when he cried out to his parents from his crib, "You're boaf here!" The finale on the train was an artful and comforting conjuring of how death might happen. The whole series is what we want from fiction--that it should elevate everyday life.
