I'm an autistic 12 year old and have watched a few shows. I'm currently interning to be a kids TV presenter and a musician and watch a lot of kids shows to get general ideas of what's on nowadays. My most favorite TV show ever, Yo Gabba Gabba, is probably the most creative, enjoyable show for the whole family, and safe for kids of all ages, even ones who have grown out of Sesame Street and Dora - and it is an absolute masterpiece in kids TV. Yo Gabba Gabba uses colorful, loveable characters, who children can eazily recognize. It is lively, musical, and entertaining, created by Christian Jacobs (lead singer of the Aquabats!!!!!) and Scott Schultz, step-cousins who worked together on Skateboarding videos as teens. It also talks about not biting your friends, or not owning up. These can be discussed and resolved simply. Music plays an important part in the show and kids are encouraged to join in with songs and actions. Sometimes a Cartoon or a Live-Action film insert is included. Yo Gabba Gabba is basically TRL for kids because of you get a who's who of indie punk rock music today, including Weezer, MGMT, Flaming Lips, Belle & Sebastian, Band of Horses, The Shins, The Roots, Chaos Chaos, I'm from Barcelona, The Killers. I'm married to the red cyclops Muno), and all the characters are nice. What I love the most is the musical guests they choose. There's the Aquabats, the SKA band whose lead singer created the show, and the wholesome rapper Biz Markie. As an actress I appreciate this show greatly, so I would recommend this for any kid, even older than preschool, to inspire them and let them enjoy some funky R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap/Pop/Rock/Dance music! :)
