MW was nearly perfect. The controls were great, the gunplay was great, the levels were great, Warzone fulfilled it's potential, the lack of any real microtransactions, rewards for playing. It felt like COD had realised it had taken so much and was giving back to the fans. Then we get this monstrosity. Horrible controls, looks cheap, it crashes, gunplay feels dull, they've removed mount, Movment is clunky, it crashes, the single player is rotten and full of glitches and did I mention it crashes? It's worrying that sometimes it doesn't even launch from the desktop hub. It's ironic that this game is set in the past cause this feels like so many steps back. Oh and it cost me £65. P.S This is the second time we have been stiffed by Treyarch as blackout should never have been sold as a standalone game (or at all) but we were conned then too.

This is not 5 stars. The puzzle aspects are so so, you'll work out what to do pretty quick. The gameplay is meh, you'll miss shots, ledges and jumps all the time. The graphics are not bad, the only amazing bits are glory kills. The story is a loose way of trying to tie this average stuff together. My main issue is how stupidly hard it can be for no reason other than it's an average game trying to hide this fact. You'll sweat your way through a battle for 5 minutes only for it to then spawn twice as many of the same enemies, then 3 times as much, to the point where you can't actually avoid bullets, missiles and mele attacks. Not that you can avoid them much anyway as the AI puts its shots where you are going to be and not where you were. On higher levels this means the new magic word GRIND rears it's head. Over and over and over you'll go till you just run round in circles trying to get supplies and avoid the enemies. Challenge should mean challenging your wits not just flooding small areas of the level with same enemies over and over. It's boring. It seems that the only way a game can be "challenging" now is to emulate souls level frustration. It's cheap and lazy. Why are devs emulating a game, which itself emulates games from the 80s and 90s that were usually so bad they were bargain bin failures and folk are applauding? No thanks, we progressed by this type of lazy development nearly two decades ago. Stubborness is what will keep you playing this game not enjoyment.

Could not disagree with the top reviews here more. Like the Souls games the programming in this game is terrible. I realise it is deliberate but that makes it worse. sprites disappearing into the environments, rendering taking seconds if at all, cameras blocking views, combat working roughly 60% of the time, constant replays, terrible acting and shoddy shoddy movement mechanics are only some of the issues with this game. I paid money for a modern gaming system, I don't understand why some studios think it's acceptable to produce deliberately under developed games. Gamers all enjoy a challenge but not through bad game mechanics and lazy graphics, From Software should not be the blueprint for a challenging game. Respawn realized how bad they had made this game by allowing respawns everytime you fall of a ledge, because it's a lot. If they had put you back to the meditation spot everytime you fell you would put the CD back in the case and launch it out your window. Why in this day and age are we cheering on games that would have been slated 10/15 years ago on lesser systems. As gamers we fight against micro transactions and expansion payments but a game that is hardly finished is getting 9 out of 10s? As someone who started gaming with a spectrum in the 80s I'm shaking my head.
