I will respect everyone’s opinion on this film and honestly, I loved this film. So what if I was in a room full of kids and their parents? So what if when an audio played, telling everyone to turn their phones off, a kid asked really loudly, “ is that huggy wuggy??” from my perspective, this was actually a great movie, and very enjoyable to watch with my game-obsessed friends.
I can understand people complaining about how the pacing of the movie was not very well done, because I agree, it WASN’T well done, but considering that, as I said before, I was in a cinema full of 7-8 year olds, if Nintendo was expecting this audience in every cinema then they would expect the kids to have a little-to-no attention span.
The way they represented peach was really nice; if you think that peach’s character was bad (understandable) then you should be glad we didn’t get a helpless classic damsel-in-distress character, as she was in some games. They would have changed it from some games because the times have changed, and generations have changed too.
Also, why is no-one talking about the accuracy of the details that they included from the games?? Even in the mario kart scenes, Mario is seen doing a small drift that gets him out of the jaws of that weirdly yassified koopa kart, which is high attention to detail, as someone who plays mario kart frequently. The inclusion of these details did not feel forced in any way, and seamlessly included in the world, it was marvellous. Bravo!
