I saw this movie in 1957. It remains near the top of my list of great war movies. Scenes of "no man's land," executions of French soldiers, hateful character of French generals, and the reactions of young French officers to a German.girl singing a German soldier's song. All of these continue to raise anger at and sorrow for the insane quesr for glory.
