Way over the top. I knew from the first scene with a cool artsy camera and "part 1" with neat fonts and colors it would be one of those types of films. Cool and if you don't appreciate it then you're not a film maker so you don't understand. Once you get going you're thinking okay, it could be good, but it becomes too unbelievable and supernatural. They took too many ideas and crammed it in without really explaining each idea. Psychic ability. Satan. Reasons behind everything. Never closed the loop. Walking out my wife had to see what the ending meant. Well of course it was open to interpretation, as the filmmakers wanted, but in English that means you couldn't tie it all together so just left it as is. I'm assuming dude was living in their basement, the entire time, but agent Cooper couldn't remember that, at all. The mom was so brainwashed that she never got help. Psychic abilities only work when there is a door, warming there is something on the other side. Every murder scene there has to be a doll, but the FBI couldn't find that connection. Nor decipher codes, that didn't really mean anything anyway. I suppose Satan does work in mysterious ways, but even the dark Lord couldn't pull this off.
