It isn't throught-provoking. Spike Lee previously tried to adapt a Korean masterpiece and failed horribly- and now he's slapped together a quick un-thought-out Vietnam flick. A Spike Lee Joint that Spike Lee put his name on because he got paid. That's the game, Netflix NEEDS content. Spike provided but didn't give his best. A black power film with confusion as to what black power is interspersed with racism against the Vietnamese.
