Miss seeing Bob Costas hosting the Olympics. The hosts they had were flat and boring. Especially during the opening ceremonies when I didn’t realize I was back in college listening to experts on China. WHO CARES. Ho hum. NBC kept filling time by replaying over and over US athlete’s performances like that of Nathan Chen. Should have mixed up the events a bit more on NBC instead of focusing on just a few. I mean how much skiing events can we take. Down hill skiing, slalom skiing, freestyle skiing, cross country skiing, etc. Put on curling or some of the other events instead of relegating them to one of the NBC satellite networks. I am so sick of skiing right now. So glad I recorded the shows so I could fast forward through the endless commercials and backstories of the athletes. We aren’t watching to get their entire life history. Imagine turning on the Super Bowl or World Series and being shown the life story of all the players? Ha! We are tuning in to watch sports. If NBC wanted us to know about the athletes, they should have put those videos on the NBC website and directed viewers there. Stop wasting the viewer’s time. NBC did a great job of making the Olympics boring to watch. Whoever was in charge of producing these Olympics should find new work. Can’t wait to see how messed up the next Olympics broadcast will be in summer 2024. Need people running the show or hosting who truly get excited during the events and that comes across through the broadcasts. That didn’t happen this time around.
