Lost for words! Would give 10 stars if I could!
Honestly this movie was highly anticipated but it exceeded the expeditions beyond what I thought it was going to be.
Yes, I thought it wasn’t going to be a cheesy kids movie about a doll and thought there was going to be a bit of an undertone to reality but it’s so much more than that.
Brilliant writing and directing (hats off Greta Gerwig, you’re going places!) and great innuendo humour with both happy and truly sad moments.
Loved the narration by Helen Mirren (especially the breaking of the fourth wall) and the ending was bittersweet with Billie Eilish’s song. (I’m calling it now, if that song doesn’t win an Oscar or something, I’ll be mad!)
The last line was BRILLIANT, so unexpected and went completely the opposite of what the audience expected. The whole room laughed for a good 5 minutes after contemplating what had just been said.
This is the movie we’ve all needed. It’s what Hollywood has needed. Something new. A breath of fresh air.
This will go down as one of the classic movies, such a cool privilege to witness it on the big screen.
And loved all the hype around the movie. I’m a frequent movie goer and I’ve never seen the cinema so busy. And everyone wearing pink!
Congratulations to everyone involved in making this joyful masterpiece.
