At first, I interpreted Matthew's story as braggy about his addiction and he did come across as quite selfish, but as I continued, I realized that he may have started out that way in real life, but through his ordeal he seems to be coming to terms about who he really is. I couldn't imagine having to deal with such a lifelong disease, no matter how much money a person has. I hope that he continues his journey drug and alcohol free and keeps working on helping others through this journey as well.
