Shockingly bad, Netflix and the producers of this show should be ashamed. They have dragged a family’s tragedy through 4 hours of misleading information, repetitive clips and interviews with people who provided no real depth or substance to what was really going on for Elisa, except maybe for the clinical psychologist who got 2 minutes of airtime. They narrate Elisas social media posts with a voice likened to the ‘Gossip Girl’ voiceover which is both bizarre and annoying. Other narratives also follow with different voices used which becomes increasingly irritating the longer this show is dragged out. These so-called ‘internet sleuths’ who were also regrettably given airtime are sad individuals who need to get a life instead of vilifying an innocent person whose life was flipped upside down and was pushed towards attempting suicide. Something he is still trying to recover from 8 years after the tragic events leading to Elisa’s death occurred. The descriptions of skid row shows a wider societal issue at play but it also falls victim to this documentary which includes it almost as a way to make the show more sinister when actually it’s not linked to Elisa’s death at all. The overall portrayal of mental health in this show is disrespectful to all those who suffer and to profit on this is disgusting.
