I cried three times today...
The first time I cried was when I saw a montage of mothers playing dolls with their daughters. I cried, not because it was a touching memory... I cried, because I shared in the sentimental moments on a personal level... I played dolls with my daughter all throughout her growing up, and I still enjoy playing Barbie with her till this day.
The second time I cried was when I saw a man that was pushed away as a beta take back control of his life, become a real man, only to find a happy balance in his life as he discovers who he really is. For, that man really only wants to be loved, to be appreciated, to be with a girl that shows interest in him and his desires, and who supports him loyaly when he goes finding himself. For this man, I couldn't feel more for himself and found myself shouting in my head, "GO KEN GO!"
The last time I cried was when we had to say goodbye to Barbie. Actually, I don't want to be a total spoiler, but I did cry again.
The theater industry was singlehandedly saved by the summer blockbuster Top Gun, and I think The Little Mermaid was Disney's best movie to date, but they didn't make me cry three times. For that reason, I say the movie of the year for 2023 is by far....
"BARBIE!"
You go Babs! And you too Ken!! Boy is Mattel going to bank off of the new images this movie branded them as. Go see it (AGAIN), it was that good... 5 stars in my book!
