The original 12 Rules for life had a decent start but degraded into a pseudoscientific few "sounds good in a vacuum" anecdotes targeted at those who wouldn't query alternative viewpoints. Beyond order starts off, and continues for 60% longer than it needs to by Peterson over elaborating and overwriting in an almost pure fiction based writing style. Its almost as if the appeal of the book to many is that he tries to look for the most complex language and elaborative descriptively to turn a 5 word sentence into a 25 word English lesson without arriving at any specific point for another 6 paragraphs.
Similar to how basic psychology will trigger most people to immediately perceive the intelligence of someone as higher based on their attire, people immediately seem to hang on his every word because his writing style is so articulate and he has the titles to counter any negative feedback with "But he is a doctor with years of experience". Just remember, Carl Jung wrote a book on interpreting dreams, and an acclaimed doctor developed the Atkins diet as superior (when it was infact not only suboptimal but also very unhealthy for a large portion of the population).
This book does seem to have been written to help anyone, but rather it was written to sell more copies.
