This movie is a bummer in that it started out great, had good lead actors, good story line, cool driving an old land Rover thru winter wonderland conditions and they caught us right away but then the writers ruin it towards the end when they decided to make rachels wonderful character a cheating fiance instead of easily detaching her from her lack luster relationship and making her an honest woman.
We knew she wasn't supposed to be with her cheapskate fiance but they should have had her get dumped by her soon to be husband or something so we felt the emotion bond between her and Jacob was perfect instead of a bad feeling of disloyalty when it could have been a warm and fuzzy X-mas movie.
I really liked Rachel up till this part but then she just became another unfaithful women which made me instantly dislike her and ruined my movie experience.
There was great chemistry too but again once she cheated it ruined it as she says to Jacob after a night of unfaithful sex,' my fiance loves me and that means something so I must go to him." But it must not have meant that much since she just got done screwing the other dude and then disappeared and broke his heart too!!! She then seemed shallow and not the wonderful person we first thought.
Also the writers never let Rachel and her mother meet and reconsile even tho both dreadfully yearned for each other so they again miss an opportunity to make our eyes swell with tears which would have definitely deepened the movie and plot and would have drained a bunch of emotion from the audience for sure but they seemed to rush the end instead of seasoning it turned it from possibly one of my favorite movies of the season to a complete bummer and spurred me to write this disgruntled reveiw. The good part gets a three because it was almost a really good movie.
