I absolutely loved this film. There was so much to wrap up in one, final visit to a Galaxy Far, Far Away, and I think that they did so respectfully and appropriately. There is no doubt that the pressure of a tight schedule and huge script put strain on the beginning, but it evens itself out and once it's flying high, the film faces down some true Lore-defining plot points. Just think about the pressure of trying to wrap up not only three trilogies, but literally the biggest and most beloved franchise in the film history. It's Star Wars. Those words have a whole different level of meaning. And I think that, while not perfect, The Rise of Skywalker, does a fantastic job of paying it all homage while resolving as much as possible. I shouldn't be surprised at the amount of hate for the movie online already, but I am. I felt that Abrams and the team did what the fans were hoping for and it still didn't work out for many of them. But consider me a very satisfied hardcore fan.
