Sink or Swim

Love Katt but this one was rough. Katt has shown comedic genius over the years and I'm a fan. This special was cringe 90% of the time and made me question my fandom which sucks to feel. He is such a smart dude but somehow made himself sound like a one trick show. 40 minutes (or more) of the the hour set was so one dimensional. All he did was talk about skin color for nearly the entire time which can be fun for a bit or two but loses traction when over done. Relying on one topic like skin color for an overcooked amount of time is what amateurs do at clubs. They end up sounding like every other comic that lacks original ideas. After that 257th comic jokes about skin color, it gets simple, predictable, and played quickly. I don't even care if my skin color gets beat up on in the recieving end of the jokes. They're just jokes and I'm not woke foke so it's cool. I just didn't expect a dude at his level to lack depth since he possess such depth in daily life. Katt is such a good dude and an interesting thinker but this show didn't represent any of that. Lastly, the constant sound board effects got old and over used within the first 10 mins of the show. I stayed on the edge of my seat waiting for him to turn it around but it never happened. Who cares though, he's crushing life and I'm sitting here posting a bad review wishing I achieved even half of his accomplishments 😄.
