I truly believe that the writer of this film must have read the poem *"The Cabin of My Solitude"* by Sohrab Sepehri (Iranian Poet, b1928 – d1980).
The themes and emotions portrayed in the film seem deeply influenced by the essence of Sepehri’s verses, bringing his words to life on the screen. The connection is unmistakable, making the film an almost tangible extension of Sepehri’s poetic vision.
The bird's shrinking and growing in size could be a visual effect meant to represent the altered perception that comes with it, or simply the writer being high when writing it! ;)
Death resides in the pleasant atmosphere of contemplation.
Death speaks of the morning in the essence of the village night.
Death comes with a cluster of grapes to the mouth.
Death sings in the red throat.
Death is responsible for the beauty of a butterfly’s wings.
Death sometimes plucks basil.
Death sometimes drinks vodka.
Death sometimes sits in the shade, watching us.
And we all know
The lungs of pleasure are filled with the oxygen of death.
