There can be brilliance in David Chase’s intent overall… ‘The Sopranos’ is based on Tony Soprano, a depressed family man and mobster who is in therapy that has panic attacks due to his past and present. In the prequel, why doesn’t Tony have a panic attack?? He would get them as a child. If you notice, there was no depth to any ‘Sopranos’ character in ‘Many Saints’.. This was a movie about Harold and Dickie with young ‘Sopranos’ characters sprinkled in… I get that the point was to demonstrate and tell the story of the beginning, before Tony becoming a mobster in North Jersey..The benefit of the doubt that I am giving to David Chase would be to ask to please make a part 2 prequel. David Chase needs to write it and direct it. We need to see Tony take down Feech Lamanna’s card game that got him ‘Made’ in La Cosa Nostra.
