I was enjoying the movie, and being transported back to the late 50’s/early 60’s, but then the abruptness of the ending left me feeling that the movie makers were toying with me. I felt the ending was just pasted on because the film makers did not know how to end it. As such, I cannot recommend the film not because I demanded a happy ending, but because the ending left me hanging out there with the feeling that the film makers were not respecting me as a viewer. And I felt that my time was wasted watching it. The film actually duplicates the story rabbi two is telling Larry Gopnik about the goy’s teeth which turns out to have no meaning and leaves Larry with a sense of emptiness. Okay, this works for a vignette, but surely not for a whole film which i the viewer spent about 90 minutes of my time watching. Not fair, Coeh Bros. You should not toy with viewers like that, just because you can. That’s my opinion. I’ll be very picky about ever watching any further films by them-if at all.
