Goodness me..if you took out all the descriptions of tea and toast, herbal tea and banana bread dripping with butter, egg and bacon sandwiches and people buying coffee in various sizes the book would be much shorter. The premise of a suspicious death in a group of retirees is promising but ultimately we are left with a collection of moral degenerates who have protected an aging psychopath for years out of loyalty to her husband in return for previous financial help. Hardly uplifting. uplifting.
