Also you have allowed us to learn how her nihilism impacts a wide range of characters around her. We learn to care about them all including and loath any others. And lastly you include enough comic relief for us to avoid exhaustion whether it’s delivered conventionally with dialogue or delicately with powerful nonverbal close-ups Perry’s are especially raw.

The town, like any other corrupt sea port city, is the major star among some heavy weights and a handful of light weights. Regards it’s good fun and peppered with gratuitous sex like that of French movies of the past.
