This movie was unbelievably boring, all those long-tailed conversations - one conversation had the audacity to have a playback speed of .01 - had my daughter and I leaning on each shoulders close to sleep. Then the final act played and it was finally interesting. Aren and Jason on stage giving the presentation to the company was the best scene in the entire movie, it was straight off of Broadway. It felt like the final act was the only part of this movie that was rehearsed, everything else was one-and-done!
Then came the twist. I had guessed the twist earlier, but I had the magical person wrong. When my daughter and I discovered who the original magician was, and therefore who was responsible for the entirety of the boring-tailed story, we laughed our racist-tails all the way home!
I love me some Nicole Byer! She 'nailed' her scenes in this movie and was vastly under-utilised.
