I love romance books and was pretty excited when I saw that the Bridgerton series was being made. Julia Quinn is a well versed author who obviously plies her craft with plenty of research. This series is really just garbage! I was annoyed with the woke pandering of season 1, but the storyline held pretty true to the book, so I gave it an artistic interpretation pass. Season 2 was pretty disappointing, as it took a big step away from the books storyline because it made a big deal about Kate’s Indian heritage (we all know that wasn’t part of the book about English society in the 1810s). it also made Kate the matriarch of her family and she was NOT that in the book at all. There was minimal chemistry between the two main characters and their interactions were hardly believable. I approached season 3 with trepidation, but thought that with the established characters of Penelope and Colin, it can’t be that too far off…. It is. Once again, no true chemistry between the characters, it’s all forced. There is nothing about the storyline of the show that is even remotely similar to the book. I can’t even bring myself to watch the second half of this season. Also, the Queen isn’t part of any of the books. I’m not even sure why she was developed as a main character beyond the fact that everyone has a huge hard on for the concept of a black English queen. Y’all are pathetic with your ostrich-like ways toward reality. Get over it! Big fail on Netflix.
