Dorian Grey

Like many of us here I was very excited when I saw the name Butcher attached to a book. I'm not sure what I was expecting but this didn't land for me in the ways I would have hoped,and did land in others. The dry humor was well done, and the one liners were solid. The world itself feels under developed, like a few different times in reading this I had to check to make sure I didn't miss a prequel book explaining a lot of things. If the effort that went into the trash talk and banter was put into the world building and development of the main characters it would have been a knock out. I am excited to see what book 2 has to offer and if the writing grew. Best of luck Mr. Butcher and can't wait to see you continue to grow.
