SHAKUNTALA DEVI – is a well-known name across the world and does not require any introduction. This is the name on top of mind recall for many people as Great Mathematician, Human-Computer, and inspiration for many youngsters & mathematicians. This movie SHAKUNTALA DEVI is a scar on the name of her and has completely damaged her reputation, name, fame, and personality. While there were no questions on the abilities of the Cast and the team, the basic concept of the movie is under question. There is a lot that can be explained about Mathematics and shown to the younger generation about her life achievements as inspiration. Whereas the entire movie is focused on her personal life which actually is no of one’s interest. It is not fair of any individual to take a deep look at any famous personality’s personal life and how they deal with it. This movie is completely destroying the image of Shakuntala Devi as most of the movie deals with her personal life, having her relationships with multiple people, relation with daughter, etc. will not add any value to her existing fame whereas it leaves a poor taste and opinion about that personality in the minds of youngsters. Could not understand what is the message the director wanted to leave with the audience, as the movie does not indicate any kind of charity / great work that Shakuntala Devi has done for the society or to any specific category of people... It does not talk about any books written by her, any researches or traces left by her about mathematics for the next generations. Just her personal life, money, properties, etc., etc., I cannot give any kind of rating to this move and do not recommend anyone to watch this kind of demotivating, damaging the reputation of a great personality. There is no provision to give a Negative rating for this movie. Appreciate the acting skills of Vidya Balan & other casts in the movie.
