Moderately humorous in places, but unfortunately didn’t have me falling off the chair, or nearly choking my pipe. Didn’t think there was much of a travel element in it, tended to be more anecdotes from the past of JKJ and his acquaintances. If I ever decide to row up the Thames with my wife and dog I think I’ll take a map rather than this book. However for a book that was written 150 years ago I found it easy to read, compared to similar books of this era.
