Before I start, this was my first ever souls game
From the gameplay, music, visuals, this game has it all. At first I was reluctant to play this and I was a bit scared, since it has the title "soulslike" which mainly means "Oh damn this is gonna be difficult and excruciating. I've never played a dark souls because I didn't really like playing a game where I torture myself. However in this game it did have it difficulties but it never felt unfair to me, even in my NG+ run where it ramps up the difficulty, it still was manageable.
I didn't do any builds or anything, I played how I wanted to. And the game doesn't punish you for doing so, that's why I'm not a huge fan of elden ring since it locks you out of weapons and certain other things depending on your stats. In this game it gave you everything available to you, yes weight became an issue but they give you great amulets and getting ergo wasn't that difficult. And not to mention the customizable weapons, with handles and blades. I experimented a lot but I originally just used the boss weapons because they were OP.
This was by far one of the best games I have ever played. And that's saying a lot since I've loved a lot of games but saying that in a sentence for a game is something else. I have played the game twice now, the original playthrough and then new game + And each time I've played it's felt just as amazing. Yes it is a very difficult game, and can be super aggravating at times, but I never ran into any glitches or bugs in both my plays. Every time I died or failed at something it was my fault, and the only complaint I have about the game is that sometimes you can be locked out of things, such as side quests. Since after you beat the boss some characters just die, and you lose out on that. I wish it would give you a warning first before that, but other than that I have no other complaint.
Well and the butterflies that had a million health, but they actually fixed that which shows they understand and listen to their fanbase.
I also made the mistake of using the boss ergo, and missed out on 2 items my first playthrough. I wish it would give a warning before doing that as well, however it is the players fault since I'm pretty sure it tells you and it's obvious to people that are already experienced in it, so I blame myself for that.
