I am a huge fan of I am Pilgrim and bought this book immediately in the hopes that it lives up to the expectations.
I was miserable and had to push myself throughout the book to continue reading, thinking the plot will somehow get a little better.
Truly lost interest after a few chapters, goi g through the submarine and orc part was just painful. Poor plot and just weird.
Also, I found some things completely weird. Like since when do Denied Access Area Agents start sharing stories about their missions with their wife? Or include her in planning the next mission? Or the Director of Intelligence become a personal messenger to the wife of his agent? Eh?
Through the whole storyline, the main hero kept indirectly saying he was the best there was and kept missing things? Like giving away Laleh was not deaf and dumb due to his anger. Or forgetting to take a weapon to a Zato on the pretence of submitting it because he was travelling from Afghanistan? Plot has holes.
I miss Scott Murdoch and Whisperer. They would never miss it. I miss Scott's sense of humour. I miss his superb character arc through I am Pilgrim. I miss the intelligent ways in which Scott seems to explain how he resolved the impossible.
Sadly, very disappointed and completely wasted money with the new book
