I was truly touched by this documentary is an understatement; it almost made me cry. After watching it, I was compelled to reflect on my personal life that is surrounded by the lives of others who have countless of possessions with the mindset of pursuing state-of-the-art gadgets, etc. I thought I was leading a very simple life in one of the thriving metro areas in the U.S. but I was wrong.
The protagonist’s determination to continue to live in her familiar surrounding while taking care of her ailing mother with absolute bare minimum truly taught me that this world is not about belonging to a certain class with abundance in a capitalistic society. She has no greed or covet; love for her mother and her mother land are the driving forces for her to live in a very simple life.
