Simply put - This is not Star Wars. This is not even an amateur approach to Star Wars. It is Disney's corporate project to exploit one of the biggest and most popular franchises in history to accumulate more money by pleasing the "mainstream" public of today and sell "trendy" messages (gender equality, political correctness...) along the way. This fake saga took every single sense out of both the Original Trilogy and Prequels. It seems like JJ had no clue at all when he was starting this project what to do with the story or how to finish it. So they opted for the "safer" path, since all the actors were alive in '15, to use them to build up the hype for the old fans, and build new heroes for the next generation of audience on Luke, Leia and Hans's foundations. After he kills them off, naturally. The story makes no sense, they used Palpatine just for the heck of it, there is no STORYWISE or any other LOGICAL explanation for his appearance. Not to mention that the real Skywalker saga, and Anakain as the Chosen One are degraded and desecrated. Rey is no Skywalker, it is so fake, plastic and without any other sense to it, except that it is the corporate approach to "launch" a new franchise symbol. Since the Skywalker is the most iconic element of Star Wars, they killed it and installed a female character. She could be a real new hero, a much more stronger and deeper character if they based a story around her in some other setting. 1000 years before or after OT. Disney, you failed. The effects are nice though.
