Before you watch this movie, be mindful not to set the standard too high like I did. Don't worry, I'll keep spoilers out of my review.
This film tends to drag, and a lot of the characters are forgettable. Their stories aren't really explained, and when they are, it's very rushed. Most of the film is the group walking around in dark dusty hallways with mediocre scares until about an hour in. Then the scares begin. There's a few jumpscares that are actually pretty scary, and there is some gore towards the end. I think I would have liked this film more if there wasn't so much walking around in dirt and more focus on the characters and their goal. I'm sure there's plenty people that talk about the several plot holes and how weird the pacing of the story was, so I won't go into too much detail.
In conclusion, As Above So Below is a... decent horror movie that's good for beginners to suspense with not too much blood and gore. Not terrible, but definitely not a winner in my book.
EDIT: After watching a video explaining the film, I liked it more, I won't lie. But the 3 star rating remains the same, I'm afraid due to the presentation
