Absolutely has some improvements on FIFA 21, and makes some small but major steps in terms of progression for future games, such as adding custom tactics and finally beginning to include teams from the National League. The graphics on next-gen versions are immersive and really impressive. However, there are so many issues with this game that in some areas makes it feel unfinished.
Scripting is still here, no surprise in that, and it also exists in offline modes without an option to turn it off for some reason; from League Two goalkeepers suddenly becoming world class against Premier League forwards, to the defenders allowing anything to pass through and forwards not knowing where the goal is, what should be a pretty solid game becomes annoying and unfun.
Save corruption isn't uncommon; on numerous occassions I've lost career modes with hours of progress inexplicably; moreover, the game, at least on next-gen, has moments where it can lag on the menus and sometimes even in-game.
The Ultimate Team game mode has died down earlier in the game's lifespan than past FIFA games due to repetition and bad promos which arguably leaves a lot of the entertainment within completing SBCs as the Transfer Market does have issues, with a lot of players becoming almost extinct and devaluing most players who are not part of a current promo.
It is definitely disappointing as when this game works, it is fantastic, but it has a tendency to show game-breaking issues which removes all enjoyment.
